Snow Day.
- I had to shovel my driveway. Good thing I kept my snow shovel. Actually I did about two passes and then thought "Aw, forget it. This will all melt."
- I saw other people shoveling their walks with brooms (like the poor Priests in our ward. Does the church not own a snow shovel?)
- I saw children playing in the snow in coats, gloves and shorts. Really? You don't own long pants?
- Families brought blankets to church to sit under. Adults. Not children.
- Church was canceled after sacrament meeting.
- All auxiliary meetings and tithing settlement were canceled.
Jonah, the ever obedient, was a little disappointed that there would be no lesson today. Luckily Amy had prepped a lesson for her primary class, so they went ahead and had primary on the living room floor.
Happy Snow Day!

I wish every snowy Sunday would be handled like this. One year our building was under construction so we didn't have to go to Sunday School, with the stipulation that we would have it at home as a family. You guys are the suckers that would have actually done it!
Why was church canceled AFTER sacrament meeting? Wouldn't you just stay because you were already there?
This is the same discussion that we had, Richard. Also, we all live like 5 minutes away. It's not like there's this huge drive home. I'm not kidding when I say it's been STORM HYSTERIA 2008 here. There's 2 or 3 inches of snow on the ground.
Hey. Just thought I'd peek over from Light Refreshments Served. Looks like we are one county over from you. Church was totally canceled for us as well as school. Grew up in Utah so we don't know what all the fuss was about.
This reminds me of Nebraska. We would literally narrowly escape death on black ice to get to church 20 minutes away, brave the 40 below winds, maybe lose a child or two, sit in sacrament, and then have the rest of church cancelled. Which seems dumb to me now, but as a child it was pure magical delight.
I loved it when we lived in Oregon for these very reasons. SNOW DAY (without even that much snow!!).
Did I just see a comment on a giveaway post that requires some extra explanation?
Love Storm Watch 2008. Here in SF we have had snow ONCE since we have lived here. Heaven. We just come and visit the snow (and our family) each winter. Everyone wins-but the snow.
Joshy,
That sounds like the best. Church canceled after Sac. Mtg.? Blankets in church! Three cheers for snow days! They don't get any attention here anymore.
I agree with Richard! Unless it was snowing outside and just getting worse...
