I just finished watching the season premier of Saturday Night Live, and I have to say, I didn't laugh one time. What's happened to this show? I haven't been the biggest fan, but with the Tivo it's been worth watching to skip the boring sketches (anything about Bush) and get to the funny ones. But tonight was dismal. Sadly, it was the season premier, too. You would think that they would have had the whole summer to come up with some really funny stuff...but you would be wrong. There was a sketch with Farah Fawcett chasing her boob, and one about guys drinking a lot of water and another one where people TSA agents thought a turkey sandwich was a gel. Seriously? That was the big joke? Sad.
The sad thing is that I really would rather be watching Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. No, not the NBC show, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, but the NBS show within a show. It seems much funnier.
And no more Rachel Dratch means no more Debbie downer.
Tina, I hope you took the funny with you.

hi cousin josh! i'll be your debbie downer! just all that talk about snl made me naturally think of nyc and i just happened to be in the city last weekend. well, i took the PATH to the wtc station and it comes out of the tunnel in the bottom of the WTC hole! and i just couldn't help but think of all the people who died there. (pulls horrible debbie downer face). isn't that terrible?
seriously though, i'm gladd you've recommitted yourself to blogging and tv. i can't comment on most of the shows you discuss, but throw out a project runway and we can be buddies.

Josh, we are sadly right there with you. We didn't even make it much past the monologue. This was mostly because we saw Project Runway reruns were playing on Bravo, and with all your talk recently, we decided to give it a shot. But then I fell asleep. But Katie watched it. But I haven't talked to her about it yet. Hmm. This comment really has wrap up point to make. Just that I'm glad you were equally disappointed in SNL.

I couldn't agree more (big surprise). And Seth Meyers; not so much funny as mean and thinks he's funny and clever (watch his face--such a frat boy!)
SO, I really liked the season premiere of 30Rock. It did NOT disappoint. Whatdyathink?
Just saw 30 Rock for the first time last night. They had me at "Nachos from Yankee Stadium."
And still stunned by the super-disappointing performance by The Killers (I heart The Killers) on the SNL opener. So sad.
