I realize that everyone who reads this blog is either a friend of mine, most of whom are already Tivaholics, or my family, none of whom really watch TV at all, but I am here today to make a plea. There is a fantasgreat show on television that evidentially is in danger of being canceled, which would be such a shame when shows like Desperate Housewives and Two and a Half Men are still on the air. It's called "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip." Have you heard of it? Well, you should.
It was made by the guy who made "The West Wing," Tommy Schlamme (Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Schlamme for naming your son Tommy.) I never really watch that show, and truthfully, was a little annoyed that it always won emmy's. Perhaps I judged too soon. Because if "The West Wing" was anywhere near as captivating as "Studio 60," then I was wrong.
"Studio 60" is basically the story of a late night sketch comedy show (ala Saturday Night Live) and the behind the scenes goings on. But it is genius. It is written so well, and so thoughtfully and compassionately that it makes me feel warm and happy inside when I watch it. There is no mystery, or conspiracy, or anything, which sets it apart from all of the other shows on TV this fall. And it isn't really dark, or trashy or anything. And the best part is that it is on right after Hero's, which I know you are all watching anyway, (You are, right? Seriously, you should be. When Hiro showed up with a samurai sword and speaking English. Geektastic!) so all you have to do is stick around for another hour. You won't be sorry.
I guess the reason this show appeals to me so much is that it is about TV, and not about politics. Is that sad? Probably a little, but I would much rather watch the inner working of a TV show than the inner working of the White House. And just in case you are confused, this show isn't a comedy, really. It's a Drama. There Is a comedy on about the inner workings of a late night sketch comedy show, but it is called "30 Rock" (Why is it called "30 Rock?") and is also genius, but that's a whole other post.
So watch "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip." Tell your friends. And if you need more shows to watch, try "The Nine" and "Veronica Mars." I know I like to throw the word genius around, but GENIUS! Both of them. And if you still need more shows to watch then call me. I watch them all.

Studio 60 is in danger right now? Your'e kidding! What is wrong with people?
Yeah, I'm with Hailey...plus...Josh I want you to site your sources. I thought Studio 60 was doing ggggrrreat! I want a bibliography
Josh, I'm in the same boat as both of these GENIUS women. I hadn't heard anything about the threat of cancelation. What could possibly be doing better on Monday night at 10 p.m. (9 p.m. Central/Mountain Standard Time)? If it's Monday Night Football then that will end. "And not a moment too soon," said the confidently heterosexual who has no interest in watching sports.
People. . .do we not Watch with Wanda? Or "Watch with Kristin" as it's now known? It's on eonline.com under gossip (though it's not). Among other things, she reports all of the weekly ratings. Here is a quote directly from this week's chat:
"Please tell me Studio 60 already has a full season order so I can finally get a good night's sleep! I keep reading that additional scripts were ordered for Friday Night Lights, even though it has fewer viewers...mind you, I love Lights, but if it winds up canceling my absolute favorite show of the season, I will be seriously bummed.

Hate to break it to you, but that is a very real possibility. NBC decided to air Lights next Monday instead of Studio 60, and if it does better in that time slot, 60 could be a goner." Kristin
It's a travesty. Please watch.
Monday nights at 10pm? Consider me a new support. Good to see Matthew Perry doing something not dumb. I totally pegged him for a bad-romantic-comedy-dropout past FRIENDS. But kudos, Matt!
hello long ago friend, I love studio 60 also and would like to run screaming into the offices of aforementioned decision makers, but art is life and as we have seen on our beloved show, THEY DON'T CARE IF A SHOW IS GOOD!
also, 30 Rock - #30 Rockefeller (sp?) Square, NBC Studios address
So, Studio 60 and Heros? What else should I be watching but don't know about?
GG - check
Report - check
Office - check
Runway - check
I need more shows! I have a lot of laundry to fold. And laundry folds faster in front of a TV.
So guess who's a Neilson (Nelson?) family? GINA!!!! And she doesn't even watch any good tv??@!!! Why, Universe?! WHY!?!? I told her --insisted--she watch Studio 60 and she wouldn't because she's such a RULE FOLLOWER! Oh Gina. So in case anyone was wondering what's wrong with "the system:" now you know.
IS THER NO JUSTICE IN THE WORLD?!?!? My greatest hope in the world (other than happiness for my family and salvation) is to become a Nelson family. Does Gina just watch documentaries on KBYU about the honor code? And how did she become a Nelson family? And can I do the exact same thing? The world is a cruel place
