Do you have plans for tomorrow night? Well, you do now. Run, don't walk, run to your nearest California Pizza Kitchen and have their new Red Velvet Cake. You can, and should, have Pizza too. But finish up the night with the Red Velvet Cake. It is fantasgreat. It has white-chocolate curls pressed into the vanilla bean cream cheese frosting and is drizzled with a vanilla bean sauce.
I love RVC but it can sometimes be so disappointing. But this one is moist and delicious and rich and satisfying. Were you bummed when you learned that RVC is red because of insane amounts of red food coloring inside and not some exotic flavoring profile? I was. But I still want to eat it every day.

So blah blah cake, I just read both of your 'ode to each other and our lives and our children.' Posts and I was moved to comment but I didn't want to be lost in the back slots of past posts. Reading your blog today has made me love my wife a bit more, remembering our own story by reading yours so thank you.
And now to cake. There's a CPK on 59th we'll let you know how it goes.
PS thanks for wrecking the illusion... FOOD COLORING!!
Oh, I just commented on the other beautiful posts, so go read my comments there.

PS. Sorry to clutter your comments column with so many Livingston entries.
But why does it have to be red? Seriously, what's the story there?
I don't trust white frosting. Is there a cream cheesey taste in that? (Why am I asking so many questions--really?)
